Activision Blizzard released Diablo 4 Gold just a few days ago, and it's already a target for controversy and review blasting due to its microtransactions that are more than what players would pay. But one Diablo 4 fan that was happy with the microtransactions, paid cash to establish the Clan but was then removed from it after making a small error.
Reddit user Mrcaruthers recently shared their initial experience with Diablo 4 and their frustration with Clans that cost money, despite having a Diablo 4 mechanic automatically kicking players from these Clans. Many players continue to create Clans and play the interval between Diablo 2 in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 and Diablo 3 in Diablo 4 together with friends. Certain players, like Mrcaruthers. They have chosen to play the Shadow Lottery in an attempt to become a Shadow and be part of the Dark Clan in Diablo 4 however, the Reddit player wasn't aware of the limitations prior to making the change.
Mrcaruthers claimed that they paid for the start of their own clan, after having leveled upwards in Diablo 4 to reach level 30. They then became a Shadow when a friend recommended the switch. According to the Mrcaruthers, being a Shadow immediately threw them out of their Clan , even though they were the leader of the group, and Diablo 4 gave no warning or indication of how this crucial thing was going to be altered. Because of this error, Mrcaruthers logged an issue through Activision Blizzard, but the Game Masters were unable to assist with the issue. Diablo 4 fan with their issues.
There was a Game Master responding to Mrcaruthers ticket clarified they believe that Clan as well as the Dark Clan systems are separated and that leaving the Clan after becoming a Shadow is a planned Diablo 4 mechanic. The Clan will not be dissolved in spite of the absence of its leader, and the aforementioned Game Master advised Mrcaruthers that GMs cannot refund Clan members' purchases due Gold in the game used in Diablo 4 microtransactions being non-refundable. Mrcaruthers has expressed their disappointment in having to pay for start a Clan for the sake of paying more to join a Dark Clan, though many Diablo 4 players aren't join a Dark Clan due to the Shadow conditions.
Because Diablo 4 players are essentially moving to a different faction upon becoming a Shadow some players have complained that the game may simply not be able to mix players from different factions, something that has been a problem for many years of World of Warcraft. A lot of Diablo 4 players responding to the post of Mrcaruthers have suggested that Activision Blizzard add some sort of warning to players who desire to become Shadow Shadow but don't want to leave their Clan because the quest chain does not provide enough information. In light of its recent launch it's likely that a pop-up will be designed to stop further situations that result in cheap Diablo 4 Gold players losing progress.
