War movie, also known as "military films", take major military actions in the history of war as the theme, the best war movies try to examine combat from all sides. Just asking these questions in the right way can make for compelling, often harrowing films. For this list, we rounded up historical and fictional films, from The War of the Worlds to the Vietnam War to the Iraq War to imagined interstellar conflicts. (Though we didn't count Star Wars—sorry, nerds.) Many of these films resonate deep within you if you've ever witnessed war firsthand. The film tells the story of American photojournalist Russell Price in Managua, Nicaragua, inspired by another American Public Radio reporter Claire, to take the initiative to join the revolutionary camp.
